INFRASTRUCTURE NSW / RICHARD CROOKES CONSTRUCTION

 

The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct redevelopment will boost an already dynamic creative hub with new opportunities for rich and diverse cultural works and events for public enjoyment.

On completion, the revitalised Walsh Bay Arts precinct will be home to an expanded group of prestigious companies:  Sydney Theatre Company; Sydney Dance Company; Bangarra Dance Theatre; Sydney Philharmonia Choirs; Gondwana Choirs; The Song Company; Bell Shakespeare, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian Theatre of Young People.

The redevelopment works for Wharf 4/5 include the refurbishment of the arts facilities and associated Shore Sheds for Sydney Theatre Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Sydney Dance Company, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Gondwana and Song Company.

Works for Pier 2/3 include the adaptive re-use of the building for new arts facilities including performance venues for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Bell Shakespeare and Australian Theatre for Young People. There will also be a heritage commercial events/art space for events such as Sydney Writers Festival, Biennale of Sydney and a wide range of commercial and artistic events.

Saber is working with Richard Crookes Constructions as their theatre consultant and is responsible for the overall design and delivery of the audio visual, digital signage, communications, lighting and theatre machinery systems for all tenancies, ensuring value management and contractor compliance, and construction management including testing and commissioning.
