ITHRA - King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture

THEATRE TECHNOLOGY PEER REVIEWS AND STRATEGY, ARAMCO, SAUDI ARABIA

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, or Ithra, is Saudi Aramco’s ambitious vision to provide a leading cultural and creative destination for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was designed by the Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta and is one of the world’s architectural icons, and one of the most culturally engaging facilities in the GCC.

Such an iconic and enriching cultural and entertainment center needs to remain progressive in the standard of its theatrical technology systems. New systems are required as the technology evolves, new ways of working are devised, and venue programming becomes more demanding.

Saber was engaged by Ithra to provide a range of services that include detailed peer reviews of theatrical technology systems that resulted in recommendations around technology upgrades, and comprehensive upgrade and maintenance strategies to ensure that Ithra remains the focus of cultural enrichment in Saudi Arabia.
