QSAR AL-HUKM “JUSTICE PALACE” ACTIVATION - SAUDI ARABIA
MODELCRAFT FOR RIYADH DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
Modelcraft International Saudi was contracted by the Riyadh Development Authority (RDA) to manage a large-scale live event combining media, lighting activation and performance at the Qasr Al-Hukm Palace in downtown Riyadh. The event was for the launch of the USD $22 Billion Riyadh Region Development Program and was attended by King Salman, the Crown Prince, the Governor of Riyadh and other members of the Saudi Government.
Working in collaboration with Eclipse Staging Services one of the region’s biggest staging rental companies; Showtex, a global leader in projection screen technology; and projection mapping content developers Crossmedia (Florence), Saber provided the Technical Direction, Production Management, Stage Management, Lighting design, and the external content creation services (with our partners Ample Projects) to assist Modelcraft in delivering a spectacular event that was broadcast live on TV across the Middle East.
The Riyadh Region Development Program’s objectives are part of the Saudi Government’s Vision2030 programme aimed at developing infrastructure in the Riyadh Region, to diversify economic activities, and improve the quality of life and public utilities.
Under direction from Modelcraft the team from Saber developed the production schedule and production-managed the site and equipment installations involving over 100 semi-trailer deliveries, thousands of lighting fixture deployments, projection mapping and towers and building works to ensure the sympathetic installation of technology within the architecture.
Saber’s Stage Manager for the event, Peter Gahan, created the call sheet and was instrumental in the seamless delivery of a production that involved a Royal-car motorcade with paramilitary escorts, horses, a 500-person Arda dance ensemble and military band, and an intricate media show within the Palace.
The result was an immersive experience that presented the Palace in all its architectural glory, whilst pointing to the future with Saber’s astounding use of colour and flawless activation delivery.
